As part of London Arbitration Week, Young ICCA is organizing a Cross-Examination Workshop, which will include an interactive session followed by a showcase round.

Cross-examination is one of the most difficult skills for young practitioners to develop. This in-person workshop provides an opportunity to learn from both legal practitioners as well as damage experts involved in international arbitration, and to conduct mock cross-examinations with leading experts before a live tribunal and receive feedback. Participants will be arranged into teams to analyse mock damages expert reports and prepare cross-examination outlines.

Participants will be arranged into teams of two to analyse mock damages expert reports and prepare cross examination outlines. Counsel teams will then have an opportunity to cross examine the opposing side’s experts and make submissions before a live sole arbitrator. The event will conclude with a showcase. During the showcase, experienced practitioners will demonstrate a cross-examination of two different mock expert witnesses before a three-member arbitral tribunal. The event will be followed by drinks.
