Young ICCA Skills Training Workshop: Preparing Hearing in Arbitration for the Young Practitioner

Date:
6 December 201309:00 - 12:30(AEDT)
City:
Sydney
Venue:
Australian International Disputes Centre
Venue address:
Level 16, 1 Castlereagh Street

The seminar is hosted by Young ICCA in co-operation with the CIArb Young Members International Arbitration Forum (CIArb YMIAF), the Asia-Pacific Forum for International Arbitration (AFIA) and the International Law Committee of the Young Lawyers NSW, and with the kind support of the Australian Centre for International Commercial Arbitration and the Australian International Disputes Centre.

The topic of the Workshop is particularly relevant to younger practitioners who are often largely responsible for important practical and logistical preparations for arbitration hearings, ranging from selecting and organising the venue, creating hearing bundles, dealing with interpreters and transcribers as well as supporting the oral advocate before and during the hearing.

The Sydney Workshop will be lead by a Faculty of leading arbitration specialists from around the world who will share their experiences, insights and tips, each having prepared hearings in a large number of arbitrations.  This interactive event will provide a unique and entertaining opportunity to develop practical skills in preparing hearings and good advocacy, as well as meet other young lawyers interested and practicing in the field.
