The White & Case International Arbitration LL.M. provides a unique individualized educational opportunity for a small group of top quality students from a range of countries, wishing to acquire an in-depth grounding in the field of international arbitration as a platform for a successful career. Our students are taught by an internationally renowned faculty, comprised of “world-class arbitrators,” including Jan Paulsson (Michael Klein Distinguished Scholar Chair), J. Martin Hunter, Rudolf Dolzer and Carolyn Lamm.
What to expect
The program features provide students with excellent opportunities to train for the profession throughout their studies, and include International Arbitration practicum and internship opportunities with leading international arbitration firms and institutions in Miami and beyond, cutting-edge research projects with Miami Law’s International Arbitration Institute, English- and Spanish-language moot court competitions in international commercial and investment arbitration, and publishing opportunities in U.S. and international legal journals. Students also attend conferences, lectures and social events with leading international arbitration practitioners, and participate in site visits to prominent international arbitration firms and institutions.
After graduation, foreign-trained students may sit for the bar exam in several states in the U.S., the most common being New York. For foreign-trained students interested in staying in the United States long-term, Miami Law offers a J.D./LL.M. Joint Degree in International Arbitration; both degrees can be earned in as little as two years total. The program provides students flexible study options; offering Fall and Spring admission as well as part-time options.
