Young ICCA Members Invited to Apply for Scholarships for the 2026 Certificate in International Commercial and Investment Arbitration

Young ICCA invites its members to participate in the thirteenth edition of the Certificate in International Commercial and Investment Arbitrationorganised by Università degli studi Roma Tre and Associazione Italiana per l'Arbitrato - AIA, in partnership with Camera Arbitrale di Milano and UNIDROIT, and under the auspices of the Roma Tre - UNIDROIT Centre for Transnational Commercial Law and International ArbitrationThe in-person program will be held from 21-25 September 2026 at Roma Tre University in Rome. 

 

Led by prominent academics, in-house counsel and practitioners, the Certificate spans five days of engaging sessions and practical roundtables on international commercial and investment arbitration. The programme also includes participation in the Roma Tre University - UNIDROIT Annual International Arbitration Lecture, which this year will be delivered by Prof. Gabrielle Kaufmann-Kohler, Founding Partner of LKK Lévy Kaufmann-Kohler, past President and Honorary President of ICCA, and Professor Emerita at the University of Geneva Faculty of Law.

The ‘Young ICCA – Chiomenti’, ‘Young ICCA – Chaffetz Lindsey’, ‘Young ICCA – MCL Arbitration’ and ‘Young ICCA – ArbIt’ Scholarships

 

Young ICCA is pleased to offer four Scholarships, each valued at EUR 1500, that will allow the recipients the opportunity to participate in the programme for free. The Young ICCA Scholarships, established in cooperation respectively with Chiomenti, Chaffetz Lindsey, MCL Arbitration, and ArbIt (the Italian Forum for Arbitration and ADR) will cover the full registration fee (EUR 950 for practitioners, and EUR 800 for students) and provide limited additional funding to facilitate the recipients’ travel arrangements.

 

In granting the Scholarships, applications will be evaluated according to (but not limited to) ICCA’s mission of promoting diversity and inclusion in international dispute resolution and whether applicants represent historically disadvantaged or underrepresented (minority) groups, including in relation to age, colour, disability, ethnicity, gender, indigenous origin, nationality, national origin, race, religion, sexual orientation or socio-economic status.

 

For each candidate, a single application will suffice to be considered for all four Scholarships. To apply, Young ICCA members must submit (in the form of a single PDF): a) a letter of motivation expressing their interest in participating in the Certificate, including a description of their arbitration experience (maximum 400 words); and b) a resume or CV.

The ‘Young ICCA – Chiomenti’, ‘Young ICCA – Chaffetz Lindsey’, ‘Young ICCA – MCL Arbitration’, and ‘Young – ICCA ArbIt’ Scholarships are part of a lasting cooperation between Young ICCA and the Certificate, which started in 2023 and is intended to continue for future editions.
